BoomTown’s new headquarters showcases growth, reaffirms commitment to revitalizing Charleston peninsula with new headquarters

BoomTown, a leading sales and marketing system for real estate professionals, is thrilled to announce the company's headquarters will move to a soon-to-be renovated warehouse at 1505 King street to accommodate the company's growth and support the renaissance of Charleston's upper peninsula.

Since BoomTown's founding in 2006, the company has lived up to its name with explosive growth and ever-increasing demand for space. The company moved to its current Rutledge Avenue location in 2011, and grew from occupying one suite to all six suites in the first floor of the building. With continued growth comes great opportunity, and the company is excited that the new relocation and expansion project can serve as a reflection of the company's investment in both strengthening the technology industry in Charleston and the revitalization of Charleston's upper peninsula.

"It's no secret that BoomTown's growth has been tremendous, and with our trajectory showing no signs of slowing down, we are thrilled to finally find a space that will not only allow us to grow our own way and continue to foster our unique culture, but most importantly to find it in our own "backyard," said Grier Allen, CEO & President of BoomTown. "Charleston's upper peninsula has been our home since the beginning, and we're pleased to use our own growth to resurrect a structure that has been out of use for so long."

The development of BoomTown's future headquarters will be another urban renewal project run by Stephen Zoukis and Michael Wooddy of the Raven Cliff Company, which previously developed the adaptive reuse project known as Half Mile North between Morrison Drive and Meeting Street. The new project, referred to as the "Pacific Box & Crate" is a nod to the first known user of historical record in 1869, Pacific Guano Company, and the most recent owner of the property, that operated the Dixie Box & Crating company.

The Raven Cliff team will transform the 80,000 square foot warehouse into a modern office space with custom amenities to suit BoomTown's values, personality, and work style, while not losing the industrial grit of the building's spirit. The developer will also construct several new structures to accommodate other office users and other amenity-related uses such as a yoga and wellness studio by Ashley Bell, a 10,000-square-foot food hall spearheaded by Michael Shemtov of Butcher & Bee, and managed by Jonathan Ory, who is also relocating his own Bad Wolf Coffee from Chicago to the new building, and other soon-to-be announced additional food and beverage ventures. In total the first phase of the project will encompass approximately 130,000 square feet on almost ten acres of land. The new project is expected to be delivered in the last quarter of 2016.

"We expect great things of this part of the Upper Peninsula," said Stephen Zoukis of The Raven Cliff Company. "Over time as other properties in the Magnolia neighborhood are developed or redeveloped, we think this will become a significant employment center due to the advantages of proximity to downtown as well as other emerging Upper Peninsula neighborhoods such as Half Mile North, as well as expressway ramps, major surface roads, and pleasant residential neighborhoods."

Prior to construction, the space will host a six-day installation, SOUND + LIGHT, from October 27 to November 1, where artist and ArtFieldsⓇ 2014 winner, Craig Colorusso, will deliver an immersive and sensory experience. The event, hosted by Enough Pie, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a catalyst for inclusive and inspiring community engagement on the upper peninsula of Charleston, and BoomTown, will be a fitting inauguration of the space, and the first of many amazing experiences to come.

Both organizations understand how crucial community involvement is while the Upper Peninsula enjoys significant growth, and the unifying nature of the arts delivered in a creative and inspiring experience will serve to strengthen involvement and understanding. BoomTown is passionate about supporting these endeavors, and, as community engagement fosters innovation, helping to drive the future forward.
