A fast-growing Charleston technology firm is relocating its headquarters to the newest office building in heart of the business district with plans to hire dozens of employees.

Atlatl Software, which now has 50 employees, said it is moving to 174 Meeting St., between Market and Cumberland streets. Its space can house about 150 employees with capacity to double that amount, the company said in a statement.

The Atlatl logo will be affixed to the top of the building, which was completed last year for CertusBank. Now based on King Street, the company plans to make the move to its new home by early next year.

"The new headquarters will include artists, software engineers and developers, as well as project managers, sales and marketing and administrative support," it said in the statement.

The company also has software developers at offices in Portland, OR. and Cupertino, CA. Atlatl makes three-dimensional software for manufacturers of complex machinery and other products. It said its growth rate is "an overwhelming 1,474 percent" and that it "has been focused on adding production and support resources as fast as possible."

"Nationwide recruiting efforts are successfully bringing new and talented team members to the Charleston headquarters," the company said.

Atlatl was founded in 2012 and previously was based in Georgetown. Last month, it hired Silicon Valley tech executive Kyle Mashima as its CEO. Mashima has more than 30 years of industry experience at companies including Adobe and Apple.
