CHARLESTON, S.C. - March 3, 2009 - In today's challenging business environment, why not boost employee morale in a fun way that allows you to get fit at the same time?

The third annual Innovator's 5K, or iFive:k, hosted by the Charleston Digital Corridor on April 16, 2009 at 6:30 PM encourages businesses to do just that by participating as teams and competing for the "Bragging Rights" trophy for the fastest company. More than 400 runners and walkers are expected to take to the streets during the iFive:k, one of just a few local races with a scenic course through the downtown historic district. The iFive:k starts and finishes at the Charleston Maritime Center, with a post-race celebration of pizza and beer immediately following on the harbor. The Charleston Digital Corridor donates a portion of the proceeds to Burke High School in the form of a scholarship for a student seeking higher education in a technology-related field.

"The iFive:k provided an invaluable opportunity for our company to unite as a team in a positive, high energy atmosphere," said Mike Carter, eGroup principal consultant. "I find it very refreshing to connect with like-minded professionals outside of the typical business environment. This is a not-to-be-missed event, and we look forward to participating again this year."

"There has never been a better time to leverage networking opportunities," commented Ernest Andrade, Charleston Digital Corridor director. "The iFive:k and the post-race party present a unique setting for team building and active networking." For additional information on the iFive:k or to register, please visit www.ifivek.com.

The iFive:k is limited to 500 participants and is open to individuals and teams of two, six and ten. Our iFive:k 'early adopter' sponsors include: Slant Media, Workplace Benefits, 105.5 The Bridge, Eco Fitness, Step Ahead, Inc., Lowcountry Innovation Center, East Coast Apparel, Comcast, eGroup, Charleston Battery, MUSC Foundation for Research Development, Appalachian Springs, Whole Foods, and Matrix Resources, Inc.
