Matt Klein is currently an Executive Director within Optiv’s Office of the CISO services organization. As part of this team he assists clients with developing business aligned information security strategies and delivers to his clients executive advisement and virtual CISO services. Matt has over 20 years’ experience as an IT and Information Security professional and leader covering operations and architecture for areas including end-user support, data center, and security within the healthcare and telecommunications industries. He holds the industry standard CISSP and CISA certifications and has developed leadership skills specifically in areas of network security, vulnerability management and application security. Matt is highly proficient at creating high-performing organizations by focusing on three elements of success: people, process, and technology.

Prior to Optiv, Matt was the Chief Information Security Officer for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), an academic health science center in Charleston, SC. Prior to MUSC, Matt had been with Anthem, Inc., a Fortune 30 company and the nation's leading health benefits provider, for over 10 years leading Information Security strategic projects and programs.

Matt brings a collaborative and customer focused leadership approach to managing his organization, programs and partnerships. He has successfully built and transformed large teams and programs by focusing on purpose, goals, relationships and an unwavering commitment to execution. Matt can establish rapport with staff, customers and leadership, as well as communicate up through the senior most levels of the organization. While at Anthem, he had been perennially recognized as a top-talent and was accepted into and successfully completed the Anthem Winning Leader Development program.

Matt is a native of Philadelphia, PA where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from La Salle University.
