Why lease at the Flagship?
The Flagship is the only facility in Charleston focused exclusively on serving the transitional needs of tech and tech related businesses. It is flexible, full service and connected.
What types of companies reside at the Flagship?
Past and present residents include knowledge-based businesses from a number of different sectors, including: software and web development, cyber security, database management, digital media, advertising, electronic communication, and technology products and sustainability.
Why are there only month-to-month leases available at the Flagship?
Rather then get trapped in a long term lease, the Flagship provides complete flexibility for early-stage companies by offering residents only month-to-month leases with a maximum stay of twelve months. Few - if any - other local professional office space solutions provide this level of flexibility for emerging tech companies.
How does the month-to-month lease work?
The Flagship requires a one-month deposit and rental terms are defined on a month-to-month basis, with rent payable by the 3rd day of each month.
Is there parking at the Flagship?
Yes. The Flagship offers on-site parking as well as parking at two public parking garages (Gailliard and Aquarium) within a short walk of the Flagship. Flagship guests have several parking options within close proximity to the property, including on-street, metered parking.
Are the office spaces fully furnished?
Yes! All offices come fully furnished with desks, chairs, white boards, and other workspace necessities. Common spaces (such as the kitchen, conference rooms, and general seating areas) are also available for use by all Flagship tenants and their guests. Office spaces range in size and are tailored to company needs.
Are there any rules about who can or cannot rent space at the Flagship?
The Flagship does not discriminate on the basis of race or color, creed, national origin, age, gender, physical limitations, or sexual orientation. We do, however, reserve the right to accept or deny prospective clients on any other, legally allowable, basis.
Can companies request additional space or services as they grow?
Yes. Depending on a company's current needs and spaces available, the CDC will work to identify and facilitate options that are the best fit for that company. Sometimes this means transitioning to Flagship2 or working within CDC's network of local real estate professionals to find suitable office space.
Are there restaurants/services/shops nearby?
For starters, there is a Starbucks (affectionately known as "Conference C") next door and a host of great restaurants, all within a couple of minutes from the Flagship. Then there is King Street – a top-ten shopping street in the country. More? - How about the main library, a post office, card shop and grocery store.
Can non-Flagship residents rent event/training/meeting space?
While companies residing at the Flagship are our first priority, the Flagship conference facilities are available to other groups for a fee. If you are interested in hosting a meeting or special event at the Flagship, please send us an email.
