Gigabit Internet Coming To Downtown Charleston As Competition Heats Up

The race to bring super-fast, gigabit Internet service to the Lowcountry is nearing a key milestone: It's about to arrive in downtown Charleston. Home Telecom said Monday that it plans to roll out quicker internet service in parts of the peninsula early next year. The Moncks Corner-based provider is charting a path through the city's startup hubs, betting that the growing technology sector will be drawn to snappier downloads and uploads. Read more:
