Immedion Keeps Businesses Always On During Hurricane Matthew

Immedion Release

Immedion LLC is a premier provider of data center services including cloud, colocation and managed services. Since 2007, Immedion has operated with one primary objective: keeping customers' mission-critical data and systems always on, even during a natural disaster such as Hurricane Matthew.

Immedion ensures the availability of their customer's data by operating multiple geographically diverse data centers with fully redundant power, Internet bandwidth and environmental controls. Additionally, they offer Cloud-based Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) coupled with 24x7x365 customer support.

Immedion's technical team began preparing for Hurricane Matthew on Monday when meteorologists first predicted the impact to the North and South Carolina coastal region. Although Immedion is already staffed 24x7x365, the company increased around-the-clock staffing levels to ensure broad technical coverage and to be able to provide immediate assistance to customers who needed it. The company initiated its emergency preparedness procedures by mobilizing the facility operations team, double checking critical infrastructure, and provisioning the data centers with necessary items for staff members who remained on-site throughout the storm. As such, all systems remained operational and all sites stayed online during the storm and in its aftermath.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by Hurricane Matthew," said Immedion CEO Frank Mobley. "Immedion is dedicated to serving our local communities and area, helping businesses recover from the storm."
