Liz Segrist  /  Charleston Regional Business Journal

Women in the technology sector have been gathering every few months in Charleston to learn about the field and work to break down gender barriers. During previous events, attendees have broken into groups to have roundtable or panel discussions about finding a work-life balance, working in the field, overcoming gender stereotypes and staying innovative.

Those already employed field questions from students or attendees looking to get hired at a local tech company. Others come to network with other women involved in or employed by the local tech sector. The third Charleston Women in Tech event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Charleston Digital Corridor's Flagship 2, at 78 Alexander St. in downtown Charleston.

Amy Piazza, the new web development director at Blue Acorn, and Jamie Sue Goodman, the program manager of Google CS First, will speak at the event.
