Cloud-based Technology to Help Manage Benefits for 4,500 Employees in Washington State

Charleston, S.C. – March 26, 2013– Benefitfocus, a leading provider of healthcare and benefits technology, today announced that the Archdiocese of Seattle has selected the cloud-based portal BENEFITFOCUS HR INTOUCH(r) to streamline its employee benefit administration and enrollment process. With approximately 4,500 employees, the Archdiocese of Seattle serves more than 600,000 registered Catholics in all counties west of the Cascade Range from the Canadian to the Oregon border.

The Archdiocese supports a workforce comprised of 147 parishes, 57 elementary schools, five high schools and the pastoral center. The organization will leverage HR InTouch to consolidate all benefit-related information in one place, creating a better way to navigate and manage changes in the healthcare and benefits space. Using a one-to-many model, HR InTouch automates the exchange of data between the Archdiocese, all partner insurance carriers and each entity's current payroll system, eliminating the manual data collection and entry processes.

Archdiocesan employees can access the portal any time using any web-enabled device, experiencing the same high quality on a smartphone or tablet as they would a personal computer. Whether enrolling in benefits for the first time or making elections during open enrollment, Archdiocese of Seattle employees will benefit from HR InTouch's decision support tools and personalized guided shopping experience. This technology gives them plan comparison tools to provide further insight about plan details, allowing employees to evaluate their options and make informed decisions based on out-of-pocket costs and their individual coverage needs.
