Software Conference CODEshow Coming To Charleston In March

Brendan Kearney  /  Post and Courier

There's a new "show" coming to Charleston's Dock Street Theatre in March, but it's not the usual musical or dramatic fare. It's called CODEshow, and it's a one-day software conference. Put on by the Charleston Digital Corridor and its member companies, CODEshow will feature speakers from tech companies like Google presenting on programming languages like AngularJS.

CDC Director Ernest Andrade described it as a natural extension of his organization's offerings, like the CODEcamp programming crash courses."CODEshow takes our educational programming to the next level by offering a world-class conference that will enhance and expand the talent in our community," Andrade said in a statement.

The March 14 event is the latest technology conference to go up in the city that some have taken to calling Silicon Harbor. Daniel Island software giants Blackbaud and Benefitfocus have held their company conferences in Charleston for years, and BiblioLabs co-hosted a publishing tech conference in November. CODEshow will be followed by the DIG SOUTH Interactive Festival in April and the TEDxMarionSquare in May.

Registration for CODEshow, which is limited to 200 people, is $249, but there are early-bird, student and group discounts. For more information, visit the website.
