Blackbaud Upgrading Nonprofit Data Management Tool

Staff Report  /  Charleston Regional Business Journal

The new year will bring improvements to Blackbaud's product The Raiser's Edge. New features including a product called The Giving Score and other database administration improvements will be available in March.

A planned mobile application also will be launched in the first half of 2012, the Daniel Island-based company said.

"The Raiser's Edge is the go-to solution for fundraisers and has become the most widely-used donor management solution in the world," said Jana Eggers, Blackbaud's senior vice president of products and marketing.

"The new version, which includes a built-in segmentation tool to help nonprofits best identify and target prospective donors, will make organizations even more efficient and effective, helping them dedicate more time to their missions," Eggers added.

The Raiser's Edge is used by more than 13,000 nonprofits globally. The software allows organizations to communicate with constituents and manage fundraising and membership. Analysis and reporting capabilities in the software help nonprofits make decisions to better target their fundraising efforts.

The newest version of The Raiser's Edge will allow nonprofits to find their best donors with The Giving Score, using analytics to segment donors into groups. Other features will help nonprofits keep better track of their data and engage supporters with marketing tools.

Sometime during the first half of 2012, customers will be able to use The Raiser's Edge mobile application for smartphones and tablets to provide information on-the-go.
