Environmental Express Announces Major Expansion and Relocation to Charleston Regional Business Center

Charleston Business Development Release

Charleston, SC – January 18, 2011 – Environmental Express, a leading manufacturer and distributor of environmental laboratory equipment and consumables and the first choice for applications-based solutions for commercial laboratories, water treatment plants and industrial manufacturers, is pleased to announce the relocation of their headquarters and manufacturing facility to the Charleston Regional Business Center on Clements Ferry Road.

At the new location, the company will occupy 35,000 square feet with room for expansion and employ approximately 50 people. "We are very excited to move into this new facility. For the first time in years, we will have all departments, including manufacturing, working together under one roof. The building is pristine and will allow us to improve our manufacturing and serve our customers even better than we do now," said Environmental Express Chief Executive, Dennis Pope. "We are grateful to our partners and the local officials who are working so hard to make this move a positive experience," he added.

Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. welcomed the expansion of Environmental Express to the City stating that the company joins a host of other high-tech manufacturers currently located on Clements Ferry Road, including NanoScreen, ITT, Belimed, Carolina Engineering and Trumpf Medical. "The higher-skilled employees sought by companies like Environmental Express mostly live within close proximity to the company's new location, an advantage for both the company and employees," said Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr.

"I extend my hearty congratulations to Environmental Express on their decision to expand into our County," said Berkeley County Supervisor, Dan Davis. The accompanying capital investment and job creation is terrific news for our community and the start of many exciting announcements we expect in 2011," he added.

The relocation of Environmental Express to Clements Ferry Road was facilitated by Peter Fennelly and Simons Johnson of Colliers International, an international real estate company and the City of Charleston's Office of Business Development.
