Board of Nursing Approves Practical Nursing Program at ECPI Charleston Campus

ECPI Release

July 30th, 2010–CHARLESTON–ECPI's Charleston campus is proud to announce the advent of the practical nursing program, set to begin in October of 2010. The South Carolina Board of Nursing has just approved the diploma program, bringing an exciting new option to ECPI students in the area. The opportunity is long-awaited, as the need for medical professionals continues to rise in the Lowcountry region.

The Practical Nursing program prepares students to become valuable members of a healthcare team, working under the supervision of a physician or a registered nurse. The program includes instruction in the classroom, laboratory, as well as clinical settings, and can be completed in less than two years. The Charleston campus joins other ECPI campuses, such as Greenville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Virginia Beach, and Richmond, in offering the PN diploma. This program is offered by Medical Careers Institute, ECPI's School of Health Science.
