A Record Setting Year for the Digital Corridor?s 4th Annual i5k

Digital Corridor Release

Charleston, South Carolina – April 28, 2010 – The Charleston Digital Corridor's 4th Annual iFive:K held on April 22, 2010 was a rousing success. The evening brought perfect weather and a record 640 registered participants ready to run, walk or shuffle what has become the community's favorite race course. The starting horn blew at 6:30pm and within just 15 minutes and 34 seconds Neville Miller broke through the finish line with a record-breaking time, followed by female first place race winner, Anne Clinton.

With almost 200 more registrants than last year, the i5k is quickly becoming the spring event in Charleston to catch everyone's attention. Runners, Ted and Jen Pulsifer, followed up after race day, "Thanks for putting on an amazing event that the whole city can be proud of!"

"Our race is rapidly growing support because its first objective is to offer participants a quality event," said Kimberly Taylor, Race Director. "The i5k is, and will remain, a limited attendance event. The community enjoys the experience because everything from its custom t-shirts and race bibs, to the scenic race route and infamous after party on the Charleston harbor, focuses on creating a valued experience," continued Taylor.

Congratulations to all who participated! Specifically, to those who won the coveted team awards – "Capes of Wrath" took home the prize for fastest 10 member team; "Don't Tradd on Me" won the team "Six Pack" award; and "Johnson & Johnson" finished with a very impressive joint effort to win the "Double Duo" award. Emily Johnson of the winning duo said, "I thought the race was great. Thanks for such a fun event! We look forward to next year."

Thank you to all of the i5k sponsors who allowed the Charleston Digital Corridor to host this unique wellness and networking event. Special thanks to our Lead Sponsors – Slant Media, Knight Press, eGroup, ECPI, PeopleMatter, TrySports, Workplace Benefits and the City of Charleston.
The Charleston Digital Corridor will donate a portion of the proceeds raised to the Burke Scholarship Fund. This donation will be earmarked for a student seeking higher education in a technology-related field.
