SCRA to Host Workshop: Recovery Act Technology Transfer Opportunities in South Carolina

CHARLESTON, SC – July 2, 2009 – A "Green, Renewable, Oceanic, Technology Transfer Output" (GROTTO) workshop is being held on July 8 & 9, 2009 where research leaders, federal and state officials and industry and university participants can gather to exchange information regarding financial and policy initiatives and their business development implications.

The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to exchange research strategies and ultimately build collaborations to capitalize on knowledge-based economic development opportunities focused on "green technology" innovation. Workshop attendees will include representatives from multiple departments and agencies and key officials, researchers and industry leaders from South Carolina.

The workshop will afford participants a combination of time-relevant content and broad networking opportunities, including insights into technology business and research funding initiatives identified in President Obama's Economic Recovery/Stimulus bill.
