BeliefNetworks, Inc. Expands Board of Directors With Addition of Digital Media and Online Advertising Experts

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 9, 2009) –- BeliefNetworks, Inc. BeliefNetworks.net which provides semantic intelligence and predictive analytics to Web media and advertising companies, today announced that two advertising and publishing experts have joined its board of directors. Joe Meyer and Troy McConnell will join the BeliefNetworks board to provide support with their expertise in online media, e-commerce and advertising, said Lisa Maki, president and co-founder of BeliefNetworks.

Meyer, chief executive officer of HopStop.com, a web-based city transit guide, and McConnell, founder of Batanga, Inc., an online music service for Hispanic Americans, will bring deep industry experience to the board. Maki also announced that the company, which is based in Charleston, S.C., will open a satellite office in New York City, located at 162 Madison Ave. The office will focus on business development and sales, she said.

"Joe Meyer and Troy McConnell bring key operational knowledge, as well as unmatched industry ties and experience, to the Belief Networks board of directors," said Maki. "As BeliefNetworks moves into customer deployment, they will offer valuable perspective to help us grow our business."

Mr. Meyer brings with him an extensive track record of influential roles in online media and advertising. Prior to HopStop, Meyer was Vice President of Sales and Publisher Services for Quigo Technologies, a contextual ad network that was acquired by AOL in December of 2007 for nearly $400 Million. Previously, Meyer was a General Manager at eBay where he incubated and launched the company's co-op advertising program. Prior to eBay, Meyer was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Diamondhead Ventures, a $140-million venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley that has since merged with Onset Ventures.

McConnell has more than 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in online advertising, video, music streaming and information technology. He is the founder and former chief executive officer of Batanga, Inc., a media company. Prior to founding Batanga, McConnell co-founded and was chief technology officer at OnePlace, an Internet webcasting company that was purchased by Salem Communications in 1998. Previously, McConnell co-founded Image Technology, Inc., a digital imaging company specializing in database publishing, which was purchased by MCI in July 1995 and re-launched as Internet MCI.
