CHARLESTON, SC, – January 21, 2007 – NanoScreen, a global industry innovator in fluid dispensing products, has received orders and agreed to sell PerkinElmer its 1536 channel 'disposable' pipette dispensing units. The NanoScreen 1536 is the only 1536 channel pipette head in the world that works with disposable pipette tips.

Although other types of systems exist in the 1536 format, none offer the volume range, speed, accuracy, or guarantee of "contamination-free" pipetting that comes with disposable pipettes. A prototype of the NanoScreen 1536 Channel Pipette dispensing unit was unveiled at the Society of Biomolecular Screening (SBS) trade show in Geneva, Switzerland in September of 2005 and released officially at the Association of Laboratory Automation (ALA) show in Palm Springs, CA in January 2006.

Although NanoScreen has directly installed units at major pharmaceutical companies, the sale of its 1536 channel 'disposable' pipette dispensing units to PerkinElmer is the first collaboration between NanoScreen and a major automated liquid handling company.

The units are expected to be delivered to PerkinElmer in January, 2007.
