Blackbaud Delivers Complete Fundraising Technology Solution to Top Healthcare Foundations

Company Release

Charleston, S.C. (March 21, 2005)

Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB), the leading provider of software and related services designed specifically for nonprofit organizations, announced today that Mayo Foundation is using the company's integrated suite of enterprise solutions to help manage its growing philanthropic activities.

Blackbaud designed and implemented the technology Mayo Foundation needed to support its unique requirements - connecting development officers and fundraising activities at three U.S. locations with a common technology infrastructure that would scale to meet their growing needs.

Mayo Clinic - which cares for patients and conducts medical research and education at its facilities in Florida, Arizona, and Minnesota - has a fundraising staff at each location. To this end, Mayo Foundation deployed an integrated enterprise solution from Blackbaud that included The Raiser's Edge[reg] (for fundraising management) and The Information Edge[tm] (for Business Intelligence).

The system allows Mayo's development officers quick, reliable access to a central source of philanthropic data. "Well known as a leader in the medical research and healthcare arena, Mayo Clinic is also a leader in using technology to support its systems, including its critical fundraising efforts," said Robert J. Sywolski, chief executive officer of Blackbaud, Inc. "Blackbaud's enterprise solutions were specifically designed to handle the needs of complex organizations like Mayo Clinic, and we are pleased to help drive increased productivity and support their unique interactions with individual supporters."

Mayo Foundation is one of many leading healthcare organizations - including The Hospital for Sick Children, the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, and Benefis Healthcare Foundation - that rely on Blackbaud solutions.
