Needle & Rosenberg Expands to Charleston

Needle & Rosenberg, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the Southeast with 34 professionals, has opened an office in Charleston, S.C.

A native of Varnville, S.C., Hood was previously employed as legal counsel for the MUSC Foundation for Research Development, the technology transfer organization for the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to that, he was in private practice in Charleston, focusing on litigation, including technology-related cases.

For approximately 15 years, Hood has been a member of the S.C. Bar. He is a registered patent attorney with experience in the technology areas of electronics, computers, software and biotechnology. Hood received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University, and his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina where he graduated cum laude. Following law school, he was an engineer in Charleston for the Department of Defense. He is currently enrolled in the bioinformatics doctoral program at MUSC.
