Notes With the onset of fall the temperatures may be dropping, but wages of Digital Corridor companies are on the rise! The Charleston Digital Corridor is pleased to report that the average wage for reporting Digital Corridor companies in 2007 is $83,256. This figure is approximately 2.5 times the average annual wage for the State of South Carolina and 2.4 times the Charleston-North Charleston statistical metropolitan area. The companies that participated in this survey also reported employment growth of 750 employees over the past twelve months. Corridor Verticals Since its launch in 2001, the Charleston Digital Corridor has become populated with a lot of great knowledge-based companies. More significant than the growing number of members is the increasing level of sophistication associated with member companies and their needs. In an effort to facilitate collaboration among like companies, the Charleston Digital Corridor is providing a forum for exchanging ideas and solutions. With the launch of Charleston Life Sciences, the Charleston Digital Corridor created the first of several planned verticals. Program Updates Fridays @ the Corridor We are wrapping up our Fridays @ the Corridor series on exploring funding options to accelerate growth beyond company founders, friends and family with a presentation on October 19th from Andrea Marshall. Ms. Marshall is the Executive Administrator for Charleston Angel Partners (CHAP). She will share lessons learned from her experience with CHAP and constructive advice on presenting a business opportunity to potential investors.
