NEWS + NOTES
If the start of 2011 is any indication of what the rest of the year is going to look like, I expect it will be a great year for our knowledge economy. Several companies are relocating within the community due to staff expansion; companies seem to be more aggressively hunting talent; while many knowledge-based companies are considering relocating to our community. Software and defense sectors are leading the charge.
Flagship II (FS2) Update
Work on FS2 is well underway with an expected opening in April. With indoor bike racks, showers, a fast data connection, etc., this13,700 sq. ft. facility is downtown CharlestonÕs second place dedicated exclusively for knowledge-based companies. Follow our progress on Flickr. If you are interested in an office at FS2, please contact me.
CharlestonWORKS™
Our CharlestonWORKS™ initiative celebrated its first anniversary this month. By attending ClemsonÕs TechConnect and USCÕs Career Fairs, the Digital Corridor is reaching a new audience of tomorrowÕs technical talent and their instructors. We have dozens of resumes from students interested in pursuing an internship or full-time technical career in Charleston. If you are interested in attending a career fair with us, receiving a copy of resumes we collected, hosting a summer intern or posting a job to the Talent Portal, contact Amy Lawrence. For instant updates, follow us on Twitter @CharlestonWORKS.
