NEWS + NOTES
Without a lot of hoopla, Charleston's knowledge economy is performing well. As evidence, I offer the following: the Flagship is full, a couple of companies have successfully raised over ten million dollars, our "Fridays @ the Corridor" initiative is attracting record attendance, Charleston was ranked by Forbes as the 8th smartest city in the world, salary levels are strong and most of our companies added positions in the past twelve months and are still looking to hire talent. All this success continues sans federal stimulus dollars and state incentives.

We now have an official brand for the Office of Business Development under which our innovative initiatives are housed. Rather than trying to explain it to you, please visit Charleston Business Development. I hope you agree that this picture is worth a thousand words.
