Charleston, SC May 6th – Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC), a nonprofit that serves at-risk Lowcountry youth who have been abused, abandoned or neglected, has new transportation thanks to a van donation by South Carolina Federal Credit Union and it happened through a website called Creative Chatter.

The Charleston based CreativeChatter.com employs a software platform that matches needs of nonprofits, churches and government agencies to available resources in the same geographic area.

"Lots of people have heard of crowd sourcing at this point. Think of Creative Chatter as crowd resourcing. We match resources lying dormant to immediate needs." said Clay Braswell, CEO Creative Chatter.

CYDC heard about Creative Chatter and decided to sign up and try out the free service since the company does not charge a fee to partner nonprofit organizations. Instead, local businesses sponsor the platform for increased community interaction.

One of the items CYDC was looking for included a van. Little did they know South Carolina Federal had just joined the site and posted a van to donate. Creative Chatter identified the match several miles apart and connected the two.

"At Carolina Youth Development Center it is critical that we have reliable transportation in order to bring our children to and from school and take them to doctor's appointments and scheduled off-campus activities. Creative Chatter's online software made it easy. We entered our van request into their site and literally hours later we had a match with South Carolina Federal," said CYDC Director Kim Brown

"Our nonprofit members update their accounts with needs as they arise. Our sponsors, and public members, simply post items they wish to donate. Creative Chatter's software then goes to work looking for the match." said Braswell, CEO Creative Chatter.
