WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The 11th annual Wilmington Information Technology eXchange kicked off Tuesday afternoon on the campus of UNCW.

According to the university, the event is designed to bring students, faculty, staff and local technology vendors together to demonstrate the technologies they are developing or implementing.

Ernest Andrade, founder of the Charleston Digital Corridor in SC, was the keynote speaker for the event.

Andrade's Digital Corridor is designed to help technology companies grow and thrive in the business and social environment. There are now 100 businesses that are part of that Corridor.

He talked about ways in which Wilmington can learn from Charleston's economic successes.
