Reliability Excellence for Managers Course Revs Up for Increased Impact

Life Cycle Engineering Release

CHARLESTON, SC -June 8, 2011 - Reliability Excellence for Managers (RxM), a flagship course for the Life Cycle Institute, has been redesigned to provide a superior educational offering for leaders of manufacturing plants and facilities who are seeking to improve operations and business results.

The RxM course now takes a more holistic approach to Reliability Excellence, incorporating many more exercises and examples that focus on the variety of functional groups involved in manufacturing, production and facilities. The focus is on operations, which includes all functions required to produce high quality, competitive products, as well as maintenance and other support functions. Change management principles are integrated throughout the course, in addition to the three day session devoted to learning specific management tools to help participants become change agents.

As Bill Wilder, Director of the Life Cycle Institute explains: "We have incorporated the principle that learning is a process – and not just an event – throughout the course. Practical, real-world examples (which we know from past course evaluations are really helpful to participants) are used throughout the course. And each session of the course includes action planning, homework and reporting on efforts applied between sessions."

To help participants really make an impact on their organizations, course facilitators help each participant build a transformation plan and business case for Reliability Excellence based on their company's performance and financial data. This enables participants to see and quantify the benefits they are capable of achieving as they progress towards world-class operations.

In redesigning the course, the Life Cycle Institute drew on the expertise of business, reliability, change management and learning development professionals to create a dynamic course that will develop both knowledge and skills to produce results. R. Keith Mobley, a course contributor shares: "This course can be a powerful tool for managers seeking to drive continuous improvement in their organizations. By the end of the four-part course participants will be prepared with the knowledge and the skills they need to present a holistic transformation plan and business case for change to their executive leadership teams."

The next start date for the four-part course is August 16-18, 2011 in Charleston, SC.
