CHARLESTON, S.C. – For the second time in two years, Reese McFaddin, owner of Workplace Benefits, a Charleston area benefits consulting firm, took home top honors for the broker with most individual sales from the David Gilston Insurance Agency. She received the Top Broker in Individual Sales award during the annual Gilston Awards Banquet on Feb. 6.

In 2007, McFaddin, who is one of 300 brokers who work with the Gilston Agency as a general agent, also won the company's small group representative award for selling the most policies for companies with two to 50 employees.

Established in 1962, the David Gilston Insurance Agency has been recognized by major insurance carriers operating in South Carolina as one of the state's leading general agencies in the health insurance industry.

McFaddin founded Workplace Benefits after working in the benefits industry for more than eight years in a variety of roles. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. She was also named one of Charleston's Forty Under 40 for 2009, an honor handed out annually by the Charleston Regional Business Journal. The award recognizes outstanding community and business leaders and young professionals who take community service to the next level.

A member of the Center for Women, the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, Charleston Young Professionals and the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation, as well as marketing chair of the annual iFive:K race, McFaddin is active in the community and resides on Daniel Island.
