January 11, 2009 - Charleston SC - Ian Jones has been promoted to Director – Systems & Software Engineering at Shippers Commonwealth ("ShipComm"), reporting to the CEO. ShipComm is leader in transportation management systems (provided on Software As A Service or SaaS basis) and automated collaborative logistics network programs, with executive offices in Charleston SC.

In his new role, Mr. Jones will direct the Company's software development staff (in Virginia and Canada) for new products and also manage the data center operations and expansion (with primary corporate data center also in Virginia). He is based at the Company's Charleston SC executive offices.

Mr. Jones joined the Company as Information Systems and Product Engineer last year. He brings the Company his data center management and software development experience from his track record of success as Chief Engineer – Information Systems at Richardson Patrick, the major law firm (and its predecessor companies) also based in Charleston SC, where he worked previously since 2001. During his tenure there, he worked across array of IT programs including data center migration and virtualization, as well as technical project management for integration programs and staff management for development team. Prior to this, he worked on the successful SailNet application team. He has core strengths in Java, SQL, and XML as part of a broad IT skills base, and holds a double major degree in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems from the College of Charleston. He is active member in IEEE and ACM and founding member of the Charleston Java Users Group.
