Press Relationships Not Press Releases

3/19/10

For many emerging firms, media coverage is perceived as a specialized and expensive process that can only be navigated through costly advertising campaigns and dedicated staff. In reality, any business can benefit from earned media by applying sound principles and building important relationships. On March 19th, Jon Yarian, a communications strategist with SeaChange Public Relations, discussed this issue and offered practical tips that any business can execute to better position its products and services and define its brand. Jon also discussed the elements of long-term media relationships, the key to effective ongoing coverage. If you would like to attend a future "Fridays", please contact Kimberly Taylor or calling 843.579.7659. This interactive forum is meant to engage and inform Charleston’s knowledge-based community; Attendance is limited to 30 guests with Digital Corridor members given priority. Interested stakeholders in the community are welcome. The non-member fee is $20.
