Blackbaud, the Daniel Island-based software provider for nonprofits, has opened a new office in Hong Kong.

The new corporation, Blackbaud Asia Ltd., is a reflection of the growing demand from nonprofit organizations in the Asia-Pacific area, the company said in a statement announcing the new office.

“The region is seeing an increase in philanthropic giving and exciting developments in fundraising practices,” said Blackbaud CEO Marc Chardon. “Blackbaud’s new Hong Kong office will position us to make an impact in this emerging market.”

The office will serve nonprofits in the region and will assist international organizations in growing their global presence.

“Blackbaud setting up a permanent office in the region is a clear sign of the growth our industry is experiencing, both in terms of revenue and expertise,” said Vincent Law, president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Hong Kong chapter.

Elizabeth Hubrich, Blackbaud Asia’s business manager, will head the operations in the Hong Kong office in coordination with the office in Sydney, Australia.
