Knowledge based companies are typically engaged in R& D projects to develop their intellectual property and ultimately grow revenue. Both the Federal and State government offer incentives to offset the cost of these activities.
At the October "Friday’s @ the Corridor," Will Freeland and Chance Massey, tax associates and DeAnna Moss, CPA with Charleston-based Dixon Hughes and discussed tax issues related to R&D projects being considered by knowledge-based companies and tax incentives for energy efficiency projects. This session was held at the Flagship, Charleston's premier co-working facility. The Flagship is located at 475-A East Bay Street (corner of East Bay and Calhoun Streets).
