Position Summary
Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a talented Software Architect with experience architecting, designing, building, and supporting large, heterogeneous enterprise IT infrastructures. The qualified Software Architect will have expert level knowledge of enterprise software patterns, strong SOAP, REST, and SOA experience, and hands on experience with Spring based Java EE software.

- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance
Required Skills & Experience
- Good interpersonal skills working on an architecture team
- Design performant architectures to support a large number of users
- Ability to align and relate architecture with code written by several development teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Document system requirements, designs, and configurations
- Ability to create detailed systems architecture diagrams
- Capacity planning, systems architecture and design to meet availability and performance requirements
- Ability to collaborate with other architects (network, software, storage, etc.) to design, build, and migrate multi-site enterprise infrastructure
- Produce accurate verbal and written descriptions of activities and issues
- Organize work activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
- Foster positive work relationships with customers, co-workers, and visitors; experience working in a consulting capacity a strong plus
- Must be able to work with both technical and non-technical team members and customers tailoring messages appropriately
- Must be able to work without ego
- Ability to listen and understand customer business problems and associated requirements, and can then communication a proposed vision/solution to the customer
Desired Skills & Experience
- Expert knowledge of Java SE and EE
- Excellent knowledge of the following standards and components: HTTP, SOAP, REST, JMS, AMQP, WSDL, UDDI, SAML, PEP, PDP
- Knowledge of a variety of Open Standards Compliant Software
- Holds or has held a technical leadership position
Education & Experience
- 10+ years demonstrated ability with web-based software development and software architecture
- Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related major
- Previous Military, DoD, or SPAWAR experience is highly preferred
Additional Requirements
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
- Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
