The Quality Engineer will have the opportunity to join a team of Quality Assurance Specialists who consistently exceed expectations in improving peoplematter’s software packages. This rapidly growing organization is in need of a highly motivated individual who looks forward to the challenge of helping in creating, building, and growing our business. 

The Quality Engineer position will report directly to the Lead QA Supervisor, and will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization to drive the company’s long-term success. 

Job Description

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for testing and assuring the peoplematter software suite, including identifying programming and grammatical errors and usability improvements. The Quality Engineer should have a strong knowledge of the software packages and would use this knowledge to formulate and execute both complex testing scenarios as well as the basic functionality tests of the system.

As new additions and modifications are created for system, the incumbent will continuously test the components in both stand alone and fully integrated environments to accelerate and direct the development process. S/he will routinely execute an established Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) to assure a newly installed system against installation errors.

S/he will also work with the Account Management team to test and assure clients’ custom modifications to the HCS system, as needed. The Quality Engineer will log all known issues into a database for simplified tracking and will monitor the issues’ progress through the resolution process until the issue can be closed.

Job Responsibilites

  • Ability to work well with both the development and project/account management teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with testing new software additions and clients’ custom modifications
  • Ability to provide timely, accurate updates and resolution of known software issues
  • Ability to maintain a strong knowledge of peoplematter’s current products as well as upcoming release functionalities

Required Experience

  • 2+ year(s) prior QA experience, preferably involving software assurance
  • Practical, relevant experience in computer software and technology including Microsoft Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • BA/BS degree; Masters preferred

  • A strong work ethic, a high level of confidence, and excellent follow-up skills
  • Desire and ability to learn new software products quickly
