Sales Engineer (Solutions Consultant)

Solution Consultants…
- Gather information about the needs and problems of current and prospective clients
- Design effective solutions that meet those needs and solve those problems using PeopleMatter products
- Effectively and persuasively present PeopleMatter solutions both in writing and verbally
- Articulate the technological and business advantages of PeopleMatter solutions to both technical and business users
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with people at all levels in prospective client organizations
- Proactively drive and manage all stages of the sales process—including the technology evaluation stage
- Passionately advocate and work toward the success of PeopleMatter and its products
- Develop product expertise and act as a subject matter expert for other employees
- Collaborate with other teams to gather and maintain information on our competitor’s solutions
- Collaborate with other teams to develop effective sales collateral and up-to-date product demonstrations
Solution Consultants Must Be Able To:
- Speak with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
- Maintain accurate records of each contact with clients and prospective clients
- Develop customized product demonstrations and deliver them in an effective way to prospective clients
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients
- Respond clearly and effectively verbally and in writing to the functional and technical aspects of RFIs and RFPs
- Represent PeopleMatter products to clients and prospective clients in a variety of situations, including WebEx presentations, phone calls, in-person presentations and at field events such as conferences and seminars
- Anticipate, identify, and overcome objections that might prevent prospective clients from choosing PeopleMatter
- Effectively convey client requirements and requests to Product Management
- Travel throughout assigned sales territory as needed
- Interact professionally with a variety of people at all levels, including clients, vendors, and other employees
- Provide training to and produce support materials for other members of the Sales team
Solution Consultants Must Have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent sales, project management and negotiation skills
- Ability to wear multiple hats and get things done in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
- Strong business sense, practical technical skills, and real-world experience selling software products
- Ability to build strong, positive working relationships with other employees, clients and prospective clients
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience with HR and Learning Management Software Systems (preferred)
- Experience working with products in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment (preferred)
Solution Consultants typically report to the Vice President of Sales.
