Enterprise SharePoint Engineer

Position Summary

The SharePoint Engineer will be utilizing past SharePoint (WSS/MOSS) engineering, implementation and migration experience to develop DoD Enterprise SharePoint Standards, Procedures, and Migration Guide.  These standards, procedures and migration guide will then become DoD directives for all future DoD Enterprise SharePoint migrations and implementations.  This Engineer must have previous SharePoint application architecture, migration and implementation experience as well as knowledge and experience with .Net development using C#, Web Parts, ASP.Net, SQL Server as well as Web Services experience.   

 

Contract Specifications

·         Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

 

Required Skills & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major

·         Minimum of five (5) years experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft MOSS 2003 or 2007 platform and  supporting technologies including:

ü  SQL Server 2000/2005

ü  Internet Information Server 6.0

ü  Active Directory

ü  Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint

ü  Project Server integration

ü  Windows Workflow Foundation

ü  Server farm design concepts

ü  Windows networking principles

·         Minimum of three (3) years experience as the Lead Engineer on an Enterprise SharePoint migration.

·         Minimum of five (5) years programming/development experience, including .NET based web solutions (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server) and experience supporting enterprise Microsoft technologies.

·         Able to lead the development and lifecycle evolution of architectural standards, reference models, guidelines and principles

·         Be able to complete analysis of Enterprise SharePoint migration and implementation artifacts and determine what artifacts should be leveraged as DoD Best Practices and incorporated into the DoD Enterprise SharePoint Migration Guide

·         Design and develop the DoD Enterprise SharePoint Migration Process.  This includes defining the complete SDLC for SharePoint migrations

·         Identify, test, evaluate and recommend tools to automate the SharePoint migration process

·         Be able to complete analysis and definition of an organization’s information architecture and overall taxonomy, and be able to define the process for migration of a current state information architecture and taxonomy to the new DoD Enterprise SharePoint Standards

·         Working knowledge and experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements analysis through testing and deployment.

·         Ability to work effectively with a distributed team with team members from multiple Government and Contractor organizations.

·         Certifications/Licenses:  MCAD and/or MCSE.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

·         Provide a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components for DoD programs

·         Create level of effort (LOE) and duration estimates for software implementation and tasking

·         Experience with the SharePoint Object Model.

·         Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer and Team Foundation Server preferred.

·         Working knowledge of InfoPath development and Active Directory preferred.

·         Problem solving skills including the ability to research problems and causes and recommend solutions

·         Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate personal initiative to complete the work of the team

·         Must be sensitive to the professional expectations of the business, ensuring a positive interaction and impression for all stakeholders

·         Knowledge of advanced internet technology principles including web distributed application technologies, web distributed application services, open and technology based DB connectivity, J2EE frameworks;

·         Knowledge of the following languages, standards, components, and operating systems:  Windows, PKI, XSL, JSP, Struts, servlets, (EJBs helpful), dHTML, JavaScript, AJAX,  SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, J2EE, Subversion,  JBoss,  and  SQL

·         Knowledge of DoD IA Directives: DoDD 8500.1; DoDI 8500.2; DoDD/I 8530.1/.2; CJCSI/M 6510.1;

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
