The DBA/E will have the opportunity to join a team of Developers who consistently exceed the expectations in improving peoplematter’s software packages. This rapidly growing organization is in need of a highly motivated individual who looks forward to the challenge of helping in creating, building, and growing our business.

The DBA/E position will report directly to the Lead Software Engineer, and will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization to drive the company’s long-term success.

Job Description

The DBA/E will be responsible for administrating, designing, developing, and maintaining the peoplematter web software suite, including data base design, production support, data migration…. and all things data base As such, strong SQL, Stored Procedures, Query Optimization, Logical and Physical Data Modeling and Design skills are required. Subscribing to an agile development methodology, developers at peoplematter are involved at every step of the software life-cycle.

Job Responsibilites


  • Gather, document, and analyze software requirements
  • Design and code high quality software solutions.
  • Provide accurate estimates of development effort based on requirements.
  • Write unit tests
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and support internal and client systems
  • Deploy finished applications
  • Integrate software changes and migrate data of existing systems
  • Use CVS and Subversion to handle software repository changes and edits
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging web technologies
  • Participate in technical design discussion and planning meetings

Required Experience


  • 2+ year(s) prior professional development experience, preferably involving databases
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical degree

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Some Experience developing web based applications in C# and ASP.Net
  • Experience in writing SQL scripts and Stored Procedures for SQL Server.
  • Experience in developing or supporting custom C#/ASP.net applications with SQL Server back end.
  • Experience with Data Migrations, Export, Import of data to and from different systems.
  • Ability to recognize and fix data issues via SQL scripts or other methodologies.
  • Data Base Architecture and Design experience.
  • Experience with database optimization and query optimization.
  • Experience with database maintenance and backups.
  • Experience creating and working with Data Models and ER Diagrams.
